Some background
Integrating blockchain functionality in our project was sketched a long time ago, but we opted to go for traditional gaming (Web2) before due to a handful of reasons, like:
-
Going into Apple's app store.
Back then, blockchain integration was heavily discouraged for apps, and though we found the sweet spot to be listed and don't be nuked by Apple, we had to step away for technical reasons.
Our first tests failed due to something a lot of developers complained to: Apple was limiting heavy web pages in Web Views, causing fatal errors (and even app/browser reboots) if you passed some thresholds, and that impacted our game client directly.
-
Going into Google Play.
Back then, Google's requirements for blockchain based apps were similar to Apple's, but less restricted.
This was also taken back because our game became a bit too heavy, and the Android Web View struggled with heavy boards.
Curiously, this doesn't happen if you play on the browser. That's why we came up with the Trusted Web App (aka Progressive Web App), that is played on the browser and doesn't suffer the Web View limitations.
-
Going into Steam.
Blockchain integration wouldn't be an issue, and we would have no need to sign our executive with Authenticode.
We started this, registered as developers, but we couldn't dig deep into making the deliverable package because we had to switch priority to other products, like farming in the main game and PoliMiner.
Those, among other things, made us push blockchain integration further in time.
And, in order to save time and effort, we decided to abandon building downloadable binaries and go to web based gaming.
And, damn, we can't avoid mentioning that our X account got suspended for "being unauthentic". It hurted our marketing plans.
So our council of partners deliberated for days, and they got to a conclusion.
Switching priorities
After the launch of the Negapato memecoin and the success of PoliMiner's launch, we reviewed our roadmap and decided to rearrange things.
Here, the highlights of what's coming up next:
Free $NPATO in PvP matches
Right now, everyone earns SPs when playing our cards game, and most of SPs come from solo battles (against bots).
We're going to set a chunk of our Negapato holdings for rewarding players engaging against other players.
- If you match against a single opponent, you get a Negapatos reward.
- If you match against more than one opponent, you get the reward multiplied by the amount of opponents, up to 7x!
There are other plans for integrating our memecoin in the cards game, but this will be the first one to be released.
Card tokenization
Now you'll be able to convert your cards into NFTs on the Solana network!
The PoliCromix Cards Collection will be different to what you are used to see in NFTs by two key factors:
1. The collection won't be pre-minted
That's right. The collection will be made by you.
Every card that is tokenized will be added to the collection, and you'll have full rights to do whatever you want with the tokenized cards, like:
- Keep them in-house to play with them and make them stronger, so their overall value increases.
- Put them for sale in our in-house P2P marketplace.
- Take them out to your desktop/mobile/cold wallet for holding.
- Push them to a third party marketplace.
2. Our collection will have a killer feature
So far, NFTs are valued upon perception - you sell them at a price governed by the coin they're based on (Solana in our case), but you sell them at a price point you feel they worth.
Now... What if you could add to the potential NFT value?
Follow the next example:
- Let's say you tokenize a rare card you got in a special pack you purchased, and you want to sell it for $20.
- Some buyer would say: "Yeah, it is a rare card, but the cost is too high just because of scarcity".
- So, you want to put more value to the card without spending time in adding glitter to it, like... attaching fungible tokens to it, promising tokens like NPATO.
Or even add stablecoins like USDC to it.
Or both.
Or even more.
We call this feature "Piggy Bank NFTs", and turns the PoliCromix NFTs collection into a collection of purse-included NFTs.
Yes, you'd read that right.
There will be a registry of tokens available to attach to the NFTs, like Wrapped Solana, USDC, USDT, and, of course, NPATO.
So, when you sell the NFTs, you'll sell them at a higher price, not because they worth what you think, but because they worth what they are.
In-house P2P card marketplace
We'll implement an auctions center for cards - either if they are NFTs or not.
Standard Card auctions
- A new non-crypto token paired to the dollar (like GPs) will be made.
- It will be available for purchase in bags of different sizes at the retail shop.
- Users will be able to sell cards and decks for these tokens in the auctions center.
- These tokens would be swapped for cash and sent through different methods, including transfers to banking accounts and stablecoins.
NFT auctions
- Users will be able to sell cards and decks using direct wallet transfers.
- We'll support payments through Solana wallets like Phantom among other direct-to-seller methods.
PoliMiner v1.1
We've finished plans for extending PoliMiner, and a lot of things will come forth:
- New materials of higher tiers. Also harder to get.
- New "pro" mines - more challenging. Really.
- New regions and mines with rare materials. You've had it really easy so far.
- Random encounters: now mining will become dangerous. You'll need to hire a team of sentinels and gear them up to take care of your miner by fighting monsters protecting their treasures!
- Item crafting: so, you've been selling all your yield for profit, right? Well... you should start thinking twice before selling away everything you get!
- The PoliMiner jetton: we'll issue it and integrate it in PoliMiner.
- P2P marketplace: to sell your crafts and buy items crafted by others.
- Telegram wallet integration: because some stuff won't be available for purchase with coins, and the P2P marketplace will require it.
That was only the tip of the iceberg
We updated our roadmap with all the details about the upcoming features.
We still have contents to add to our cards game, and we'll keep working on them and release them progresively after the blockchain integration plan goes live. Sorry for the delay, but we are commited to bring our ecosystem to Web3 beforehand.
