The mines of the Colossal Mountains are known for their noise—hammer strikes, rough laughter, and the steady chorus of dwarven songs echoing through stone corridors. But as Pepper and Cricket step inside, they find none of it.

Lanterns flicker over empty workstations and scattered tools, their owners nowhere in sight. The silence feels unnatural, heavy, as if the mountain itself is holding its breath.

Somewhere deeper within the tunnels, unfamiliar footsteps scrape against the stone. The dwarves may have retreated, but whatever drove them out has not.
